Heavy Garbage Collection Underway In CBRM

Heavy garbage collection has started today in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality.

People were asked to have their large, heavy or bulky garbage at the curb no later than 6:00 this morning.

The municipality says a number of things will not be taken for heavy garbage pickup.

The list includes electronics, propane tanks and hazardous waste, as well as vehicle parts, tires, yard debris, asphalt roofing shingles, and fluorescent lights.

Items including appliances, empty oil and hot water tanks, furniture and vinyl windows and doors will be collected.
