Heat Forces Early Closure Of McConnell Library For Second Day In A Row

The high heat and humidity has forced the McConnell Library in Sydney to close early for the second day in a row.

The library closed for the day at 11:30 this morning after being open for just an hour and a half.

It closed yesterday at 1:00 in the afternoon.

The Cape Breton Regional library says it has an extreme temperature policy to protect the comfort, health, and safety of the public and staff.

Supporters of a new library say this situation is just one reason a new central library is needed.
