Hearing Adjourned For Murder Accused

A court hearing was adjourned today for a man charged with attempted murder after a stabbing in Eskasoni.

43-year-old Elvis Errol Janssens is also facing counts of Assault with a Weapon, Assault, Uttering Threats and Mischief.

RCMP say they got called to a stabbing at a home on Pine Street shortly before 5:30 on the morning of December 18th.

RCMP say a man stabbed a woman multiple times before running from the home.

The woman suffered what police describe as life-threatening injuries.

Janssens is now due back in court on February 7th.
