Hearing Adjourned For Murder Accused

A court hearing was adjourned today for a 24 year-old man facing a charge of second degree murder after a car went off the road in Eskasoni last month.

McKenzie Daniel Poulette is also facing a host of other charges, including criminal negligence causing death and two counts each of dangerous driving causing bodily harm and impaired driving causing bodily harm.

The charges date back to November 26th when RCMP say they got a report of an impaired driver.

They say the body of a 24 year-old woman was found near the back of a car that went off the road, and the driver and two passengers were sent to hospital with serious injuries.

Poulette is still on remand ahead of a status hearing on January 19th.
