Health Officials Say Family Practice Waitlist Getting Smaller

The number of people on the waitlist for a family doctor or nurse practitioner in the province is continuing to go down.

The Health Authority says as of February 3rd there were 104,324 people on the Need a Family Practice Registry.

That’s down from 110,456 people in last month’s numbers.

The Health Authority says, in total, 6,132 people were attached or removed as a result of ongoing validation work that confirmed they have a provider in January.

9.9 percent of the population is still on the registry.
