Health Authority To Ease Visitor Restrictions At Hospitals

The Health Authority says it will gradually begin easing COVID-19 restrictions starting on Monday to allow more opportunities for family caregivers and primary support people.

It says three designated support people at a time will be allowed for patients in palliative care and other patients nearing end of life.

Children and youth under 19 admitted in hospital, patients in intensive care units, critically ill patients in emergency departments and patients in labour will be allowed two designated support people at a time.

One designated support person at a time will be allowed for children and youth under 19 in outpatients as well as hospital patients and patients in emergency departments.

The same applies to prenatal visits, ambulatory care clinics, and appointments or procedures.
