Health Authority Recruits 92 Doctors

Provincial Health Authority President and CEO Janet Knox says since April, they’ve recruited 92 doctors who are currently or will soon will be working in Nova Scotia.

26 of the physicians are family doctors while 66 are specialists.

Knox made the remarks during her appearance before the Legislature’s Public Accounts Committee, this morning.

However, Knox also says there are still 60 family doctor vacancies in the province with 11 coming to fill those vacancies.

The Health Authority says 42-thousand people in the province are now looking for family doctor.
