Health Authority Preparing To Ease Hospital Restrictions

The provincial Health Authority says it’s easing visiting restrictions at hospitals next week.

Starting a week from today, people staying in hospital will be allowed to name one essential support person as a visitor.

A number of restrictions will still be in place, including hand washing and physical distancing rules and visitors will be screened for symptoms of COVID-19.

Visitors are also being asked to wear a non-medical mask.

They won’t be allowed to sit on the patient’s bed or use patient washrooms, and they won’t be allowed to share devices, books, or food, or bring gifts or cards.
