Health Authority Issues Warning Regarding CB Tattoo Artist

The Nova Scotia Health Authority has issued an alert to customers of a tattoo artist in the North Sydney area. The local acting medical officer of health, Dr. Frank Atherton, says that a complaint was made regarding Jeff Day at Bartown Tattoos & Piercing. Inspectors later visited the business and found that Day’s tattoo and piercing equipment was not properly sterilized. While there have been no reported illnesses associated with the Day or his business, Atherton says that there is a health risk for people who received a tattoo through Bartown Tattoos or through Day privately. The Health Authority says that other tattoo establishments are being reviewed to see if they’re using proper sterilization methods, and more information will be provided when it’s available.
