Health Authority Contacting People On Doctor Wait List

The provincial Health Authority says it’s contacting some people on the Need a Family Practice Registry to see if they still need a doctor.

It says the work is part of an effort to improve the registry’s data and it adds people being contacted will not lose their spot on the list if they’re still waiting.

The Health Authority also says it’s important for people on the list to keep their information up to date and make sure they renew their health cards.

Registration profiles can be updated online at needafamilypractice.nshealth.ca, or by phone at 1-833-941-0040.

There were about 152,000 people on the wait list as of the start of this month, marking an increase of about 3,500 from June.
