Halifax Strike Will Affect CB Patients

The Cape Breton District Health Authority says a number of local patients will be affected if there’s a nurses’ strike in Halifax.

District spokesperson Greg Boone says they’re currently making contingency plans in the event of a strike.

Boone adds they’re working to take as many Cape Breton patients back from Halifax as possible.

He adds the District’s ability to transfer patients to Halifax for specialized care will be affected by a strike.

23-hundred registered nurses in Halifax will be in a legal strike position on Thursday.

However, their union is threatening that they’ll walk of the job earlier if the province brings in back to work legislation.
