Guilty verdict in home invasion case

A Caribou Marsh man has been found guilty on charges relating to a home invasion in Sydney Mines last July.
36-year-old David Angus Forrest was found guilty of break, enter and theft, assault and breaching a court order.
He continues to be on remand and will now be sentenced August 24.
Provincial court Judge Brian Williston issued the verdict, having heard evidence during a three-day trial held earlier this month.
Forrest was one of four people charged in connection with the crime.
Two of the accused have already been sentenced. 32-year-old Michael Cory Forrest was sentenced to serve an eight-year sentence while 18-year-old Mary Jolene Gillard was sentenced to serve a one-year conditional sentence.
33-year-old Ashley Nicole Keagan is to return to provincial court August 23 for a possible hearing on whether the court will allow her to change her plea from guilty to not guilty.
