Great White Shark Pinged Near Glace Bay

The latest tracking of great white sharks tagged in waters off the province shows they haven’t all left for warmer waters.

U-S researchers Ocearch say the young female shark they’ve named Sable was pinged in waters near Glace Bay, shortly before 5:30, this morning.

The 3.2 metre shark weighing 366 kilograms was tagged off West Ironbound Island in Lunenburg County in September.

Ocearch says she’s traveled 80.5 km in the last 24 hours and is heading north.
