Governments Announce Infrastructure Projects For Glace Bay & Sydney Mines

Politicians from all three levels of government announced a total of 2.9 million dollars this morning for upgrades to water, wastewater and stormwater systems in Glace Bay and Sydney Mines.

Sydney-Glace Bay MP Mike Kelloway, Glace Bay-Dominion MLA John White, and CBRM Mayor Cecil Clarke were all on hand for the event at the Miners Forum.

The work will be carried out on Brookland Street in Glace Bay and Church Street in Sydney Mines.

A total of 52 existing homes will benefit from the project with a goal of preparing the areas for more housing in the future.

Ottawa is kicking in $1.16 million to the project with nearly $997,000 coming from the province and $733,000 from the CBRM.
