The Glace Bay Pee Wee “A” Miners will have to wait one more day to find out if they’ve won a national online contest.

The minor hockey team had the highest number of votes in the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup when voting wrapped up, overnight.

By that point it had 108, 766 votes.

The winner is due to be officially announced tomorrow morning.

The team is competing to win $15,000 for its charity, the Alzheimer Socitey, $10,000 for the team, $5,000 for Hockey Nova Scotia and $5,000 for Glace Bay Minor Hockey.

The Miners were chosen as finalists in the contest for their video of a Valentine’s Day visit to the Taigh Na Mara nursing home in Glace Bay.
