Glavine Retiring

Long-time MLA and Cabinet Minister Leo Glavine is planning to retire after the next election.

Glavine made the announcement when he spoke with reporters after today’s Cabinet meeting.

Glavine was assigned the Health portfolio for the second time last month after former Health Minister Randy Delorey stepped down to run for the Liberal leadership.

Glavine was given the health file when the McNeil Liberals first formed government in 2013 and was later shuffled to Communities, Culture and Heritage.

He was first elected as MLA for Kings West in 2003 and was re-elected four times.
