Glace Bay Woman Charged in Boyfriend’s Death Elects Trial by Jury

A Glace Bay woman charged in the death of her boyfriend has elected to be tried by a Supreme Court judge and jury.

26 year-old Christina Michelle Croney is charged with criminal negligence causing death and operating a vehicle in a dangerous manner.

Police say Croney was charged after an investigation into the death of 26-year-old Terrance Matthew Somerton from Glace Bay.

Sommerton died from his injuries on April 5th after being struck by a truck on Leslie Lane in Glace Bay on March 30th.

 Croney has been released on conditions, including that she have no contact with the victim’s family.
