Glace Bay Pee Wee “A” Miners Win Good Deeds Cup

The Glace Bay Pee Wee “A” Miners are the official winners of the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup.

The coach of the miner hockey team says they got word they won the national, online contest, this morning.

Kenzie Wadden adds a local effort to vote for the team led to their success.

With the win, the team is getting $15,000 for its charity, the Alzheimer Socitey, $5,000 for Hockey Nova Scotia and $5,000 for Glace Bay Minor Hockey as well as some prize money for the team.

The Miners were chosen as finalists in the contest for their video of a Valentine’s Day visit to the Taigh Na Mara nursing home in Glace Bay.
