Glace Bay Mother Launches Playground Campaign

A Glace Bay mother has launched a social media campaign to improve playgrounds in the community.

Tammie Ogley says the community’s playgrounds don’t interest children and adds several are falling apart.

She cites Queen Elizabeth Park near the downtown as an example with a damaged slide that’s roped off and another one with railings hanging off.

Ogley has started a Facebook group called Parents for Playgrounds and hopes to gather a group of like-minded parents who might have ideas for a fundraiser.

She goes on to say she wants a playground that has something for all ages.
