Glace Bay Man Facing More Charges

A Glace Bay man accused of a recent break-in at the Lingan Power plant property is now facing more charges after damage was done to equipment at a Bell Aliant building earlier this month.

Regional Police say Bell Aliant told them on August 8th the air conditioning unit and Fibre-Op cables on their Pitt Street building in Sydney had been damaged.

Police say they noticed similarities with last week’s break-in at the power plant and after an investigation they say they were able to determine the same person was responsible for both.

Police say 42-year-old Roger Anthony Perry was arrested outside his vehicle on Connaught Avenue in Glace Bay yesterday.

He was later remanded to the Cape Breton Correctional Centre and is now facing charges of Mischief over $5,000, in addition to previous charges of Break and Enter, Possession of Break-in Instruments and Mischief.
