Glace Bay Family Doctor Suspended

A Glace Bay family doctor has been suspended by the province’s College of Physicians and Surgeons.

College CEO, Dr. Gus Grant says the license of Dr. Mohsen Yavari was suspended on February 16^th, pending a decision by the investigation committee.

Yavari was first licensed by the college in November of 2013, and had been practising at an office at 35 Sterling Rd.

Grant says the investigation into Yavari was prompted by a complaint but he adds he can’t release any more details.

Yavari practised medicine in Iran for 12 years before coming to Canada.
