Glace Bay ER To Reopen, Mobile Site Continues In Membertou

The provincial Health Authority says the emergency department at Glace Bay Hospital will be opening for two days a week starting next week.

The department has been closed since July of last year because of the unavailability of doctors and staff but the Health Authority says staffing levels have stabilized enough to have the department open for two days.

Starting next week, it will be open on Mondays and Tuesdays from 7 in the morning to 6 in the evening.

Meanwhile, the Health Authority says its temporary primary mobile care clinic in Membertou will be open from 9 in the morning to 6 in the evening from today until Thursday.

It says the clinic cannot address urgent or life-threatening health problems and those experiencing such problems are asked to call 911.
