Glace Bay Emergency Dept. To Be Closed In July

The provincial health authority says the emergency department at Glace Bay Hospital will be closed all next month.

It says the reason is a lack of doctor coverage.

The authority says they’re continuing to try to fill shifts over the summer, and an update will be given next month on the schedule for August.

Glace Bay’s emergency department was closed for most of this month because of a lack of doctor coverage.

Meanwhile, the Northside General’s emergency department will be closed from tomorrow to next Thursday.

The emergency department in New Waterford closes at noon tomorrow and re-opens Tuesday morning.

The Emergency Department in Baddeck had been taking a growing number of people from the Regional Municipality, but that Emergency Department will see several closures in the coming weeks.
