Gert Expected To Bring 2 to 3 Metre Waves and Rip Currents

Environment Canada is warning swimmers and people in small boats to stay out of waters along the province’s Atlantic Coast today as Hurricane Gert passes to the south.

The federal agency says two to three metre waves and rip currents are expected, as a result.

It adds the maximum waves are expected to reach Cape Breton after midnight tonight and into tomorrow.

It goes on to say the waves will gradually go down tomorrow and into Friday from west to east.
