Geoff MacLellan Appointed Deputy Minister

Former Glace Bay MLA and Liberal cabinet minister Geoff MacLellan will become a deputy minister in the Progressive Conservative government.

Premier Tim Houston says MacLellan will take on the role of deputy minister for Intergovernmental Affairs, with responsibility for trade on Monday.

MacLellan will replace Kelliann Dean, who’s held the portfolio since 2016.

She’ll continue as deputy minister of the Department of Finance and Treasury Board.

MacLellan will also remain Chair of the Halifax Regional Municipality Housing Task Force.
