Gas Up 7.3 Cents After Interrupter Clause Invoked

The price of gas went up by 7.3 cents a litre overnight after the Utility and Review Board invoked its interrupter clause to adjust the price early this week.

Gas now goes for a minimum of $1.63.7 in Cape Breton.

The price of diesel didn’t change and the minimum price for a litre of diesel on the Island is still $1.65.1.

The interrupter clause was invoked after oil prices surged yesterday following a surprise announcement of a cut in crude production by Saudi Arabia and other OPEC+ producers.
