It looks like record-high gas prices are about to get even higher.
The province’s Utility and Review Board says it’s invoking its interrupter clause to change gas prices again at midnight tonight.
The board says the move is necessary because of major changes in the market prices of gas and diesel.
This comes after the price of gas went up by 10.1 cents a litre overnight.
It’s now selling for a minimum of $1.68.5 a litre in Cape Breton.
Diesel took an even bigger jump of 17.1 cents last night after the price was already raised 6.6 cents earlier this week.
The minimum price for a litre of diesel in Cape Breton is now $1.85.6.
