Gas prices are expected to go up for the third time in less than a week overnight tonight.
The province’s Utility and Review Board says it’s invoking its interrupter clause to change gas and diesel prices at midnight because of significant changes in market prices.
The last price hike came on Saturday, when gas went up by 8.7 cents a litre and diesel increased by 6.5 cents.
Gas is now selling for a minimum of $1.77.2 a litre in Cape Breton.
A litre of diesel now goes for a minimum of $1.92.1 on the island.
