The price of gas and diesel went up overnight after the Energy Board used its interrupter clause to change the price early this week.
Gas went up by 8.9 cents a litre and now goes for a minimum of $1.49.6 in Cape Breton.
Diesel increased by 7.7 cents.
The minimum price for a litre of diesel on the Island is now $1.93.2.
The Energy Board says the early price adjustment was needed because of significant shifts in the market price for both fuels with war in the Middle East causing crude oil prices to rise.
