by As predicted, the price of gas and diesel took big drops overnight thanks to the removal of the carbon tax and a one percentage point decrease in the province’s portion of the Harmonized Sales Tax or HST.
Gas went down by 17.4 cents a litre and now goes for a minimum of $1.48.5 in Cape Breton.
Diesel went down by 19.8 cents.
The minimum price for a litre of diesel on the Island is now $1.63.1.
