Funeral Today For Girl Killed In Hit And Run

A funeral will take place later this morning for the 10-year-old North Sydney girl who was killed in a hit and run, last week.

Police say Talia Forrest was riding her bicycle along Black Rock Road in Big Bras d’Or when she was hit by an SUV at around 9:45 last Thursday night.

They say the SUV kept going after the crash and was later found at a home in Victoria County.

A 27 year-old man has been arrested in the case and is due in court on September 5th on several driving charges.

His name has not been released.

The funeral for Forrest is due to start at 11:00 this morning at Carman United Church in Sydney Mines.
