by A funeral service will take place in Halifax this afternoon for former Premier John Buchanan.
Buchanan died last week at the age of 88.
The Sydney native led four consecutive Progressive Conservative majority governments and served as Premier from 1978 to 1990.
He was a member of the Senate from 1990 to 2006.
Today’s service gets underway at 1:00 at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium.
