Funeral Held For Gordie Gosse

A funeral took place in Whitney Pier this morning for former Sydney-Whitney Pier MLA Gordie Gosse.

Gosse died from cancer on Thursday at the age of 64.

He served for 12 years as an NDP MLA and was a former Speaker of the Legislature.

He resigned for health reasons in 2015.

Shortly before he resigned, Gosse was operated on for throat and mouth cancer caused by the human papillomavirus or HPV.
