Fundraiser For Former CBU International Student Reaches Its Goal

An online fundraiser for the former CBU international student who died after his jet ski overturned on the Bras d’Or Lakes has raised its goal of 35,000 dollars in 17 hours.

The Go Fund Me campaign for Dijith Jose is not taking anymore donations after raising more than 36-thousand dollars.

The organizers of the campaign are thanking all who donated and say the young man’s body will be sent back to his home community in India.

The money raised will be used to cover his funeral expenses and the loan he took out as a student.

Jose had recently started working fulltime in Cape Breton.
