Funding Announced For Mi’kmaw Mental Health Initiative

The province is contributing $2 million toward the development of a Mi’kmaw mental health and addictions strategy.

The strategy will be developed by the new health and wellness organization Tajikeimɨk that means “to be healthy.”

Tajikeimɨk is a collaboration of all 13 Mi’kmaw First Nations in the province.

The government says the mental health strategy it creates will incorporate Mi’kmaw culture and values.
