Funding Announced For Eskasoni Cold Logistics

Funding was announced today to put a solar energy system in place at a lobster storage facility in Eskasoni.

The provincial Department of Natural Resources says the 583-kilowatt system at Eskasoni Cold Logistics will reduce energy demand and energy costs.

It says the project will cut greenhouse gas emissions and offer training opportunities for community members in the installation and maintenance of solar energy systems.

The province is contributing about $128,000 to the project, with about $245,000 from Eskasoni and about $1.1 million from the federal government.
