Four Charged In B&E’s, 1 Suspect Still At Large

Regional Police have brought a total of 32 charges against four people in connection to recent break and enters, and one of the suspects remains at large. 24-year-old Catlin Joseph Howell, 21-year-old Dustin James Sudworth, 21-year-old Christian James Cornelius MacDonald and 19-year-old Curtis Patrick Boutilier are all residents of Sydney. Howell remains at large and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. All four suspects are facing charges including Trespassing, Possession of Stolen Property, Mischief, Public Mischief and numerous Breaches. The charges stem from an investigation that was launched in September, through which police say they were able to tie the four suspects to a series of Break and Enters in a number of areas in the CBRM, including Mira and Marion Bridge. The suspects in custody have court dates scheduled between November 30th and December 4th.

Dave Desveaux, a native of New Waterford leverages his experience and passion for research in The Coast 89.7 Newsroom where as the Weekday Newscaster. His foray into radio began with a research position at The Coast, which led to the production of a radio documentary on the music of the Mi’kmaq people. The program, entitled “First Nations, First Music” was co-produced with fellow Coast personality Ron Neville and released in early 2011. A graduate of Breton Education Centre, Dave went on to get a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Sociology from Cape Breton University, as well as a Master of Arts Degree in Sociology from Dalhousie University. He has worked as a teaching assistant at Dalhousie, and in various short-term customer service and research positions.
