Former Sydney Mines Mayor Dies

Former Sydney Mines Mayor Hector DiPersio has died at the age of 81.

His obituary says he died at the Regional Hospital on Sunday.

DiPersio served as Mayor of Sydney Mines for six years.

He’s credited with helping to save the Old Post Office building in the community during his time as mayor.

Visitation for DiPersio will take place tomorrow at Jobes Funeral Home in Sydney Mines.

His funeral mass is scheduled for 10:00 on Thursday morning at Holy Family Parish Church in Sydney Mines.
