Former Nurse Assigned Preliminary Hearing

A preliminary hearing was scheduled today for one of two nurses charged after the death of a man on the grounds of the Regional Hospital in Sydney.

47 year-old Valerie MacGillivray from Glace Bay is facing a count of forgery.

She continues her release ahead of a preliminary hearing scheduled for February 19th.

41 year-old Tammy Carrigan-Warner from Sydney River has also been charged with forgery in the case and is due back in court in April.

Both have pleaded not guilty and have been fired from their jobs.

The 79 year-old man was a patient at the hospital and was found unconscious on the sidewalk outside the building on February 23rd.

Police say documents on the man’s status at the hospital were forged.
