Former CBU Administrator Found Guilty.

A  Glace Bay man and former CBU administrator who was charged with sex offences involving an underage girl has been found guilty of the charges. 60 year-old John Shea McInnis faced single counts of sexual assault and sexual interference with a person under 16, as well as invitation to sexual touching and committing an indecent act involving a person under 16. The presiding judge postponed his ruling earlier  in the case but handed down his verdict yesterday.  McInnis  is the former director of Cape Breton University’s recruitment and marketing division, and is  convicted  of  the offences that occurred between 2000 and 2006 in Glace Bay, when the  victim was between the ages of eight and 13. She’s now 22 and her name is banned from publication, along with any information that could identify her. Sentencing is now scheduled for January 22.
