Fiona Cleanup, Deputy Mayor Election On Agenda for Council Tonight

Regional Council is meeting tonight at City Hall in Sydney.

On the agenda is an update from the municipality’s emergency management lead, Bruce MacDonald, on the cleanup after tropical storm Fiona.

Also at tonight’s meeting, Council will elect a deputy mayor.

Earlene MacMullin has held the position for two years and can’t be re-elected to the role because the deputy mayor can’t serve for more than two consecutive years.

The one-year term for the new deputy mayor begins on November 1st.
