Feds Announce Tourism Funding For Local Projects

Sydney-Victoria MP Jaime Battiste announced a total of nearly $469,000 today through the Tourism Relief Fund for eight projects in Cape Breton and Victoria Counties.

The money is going to the Sydney Downtown Development Association, Hotel North next to the Newfoundland ferry terminal in North Sydney, the Inverary Resort in Baddeck and the Knotty Pine Cottages in Ingonish Beach.

Also getting funding is the Cabot Shores Wilderness Resort in Indian Brook, Shoreline Adventure Center in Wreck Cove, Adventures East in Baddeck and I Bike Sydney.

The Sydney Downtown Development Association is getting $50,000 to host the Evergreen Festival in December and the other organizations are using the money for upgrades or to buy equipment for their business.
