Cape Breton-Canso MP Mike Kelloway announced a total of about $335,000 in federal money today for seventeen community-based seniors projects in the riding.
The groups getting funding include Cape Breton University for its Rural Seniors Programming to Promote Healthy Aging, Glace Bay’s Number Eleven Volunteer Society’s Whole Health Program and a Senior Wellness Clinic for the Golden Girls Private Care Services in Glace Bay.
Rounding out the list are Town House Glace Bay’s Happy Communities Project and the Bras d’Or Lakes Day Camps Association’s BOLDly Aging project in Baddeck.
The money was awarded through the most recent call for proposals through the New Horizons for Seniors Program.
