Federal Money Announced For Centennial Arena Upgrade

The federal government has announced funding to support turning the former Centennial Arena in Sydney into a solar-powered indoor sports facility.

$2.1 million will be going to the non-profit group Tomorrow’s Legends that’s behind the project to retrofit the building with rooftop solar panels and a new exterior.

When the work is done, the facility will include indoor playing surfaces for basketball, volleyball, pickleball and other indoor activities.

It will also have a community meeting space and hall of fame and cultural exhibits.
