Fatal Accident On Rte. 4 In Howie Centre

RCMP say one person has died as a result of a three-vehicle collision on Route 4 in Howie Centre.

They say the accident occurred at about 10:30 this morning.

They add the stretch of highway near the scene is closed, and the Transportation Department has set up detours.

Drivers in the eastbound lane will get off Route 4 at Chapel Road, then on to Eskasoni, Gillis Lake and Coxheath Roads, and then to Blacketts Lake and Kings Roads.

Drivers in the westbound lane will turn off Kings Road on to Blacketts Lake and Coxheath Roads, then to Gillis Lake and Eskasoni Roads, and back on to Route 4.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
