The Health Authority says there were 84,069 people on the waiting list for a family doctor as of September 1st.
That’s down from 87,879 people on the Need a Family Practice Registry on August 1st.
Nova Scotia Health says the drop of 3,810 accounts for people newly added to the registry, people removed because they’re now attached to a primary care provider, or people removed because they no longer need a provider for a variety of reasons.
The percentage of the province’s population on the registry is now 7.9.
The Health Authority says the next update on the registry will be in early October.
