Fall Sitting Of Legislature Starts On September 23rd

The fall sitting of the Legislature will start in just over a month.

The Speaker’s Office says the first session of the 65th general assembly will resume on Tuesday, September 23rd at 1:00 in the afternoon.

The spring sitting of the Legislature closed in March after MLA’s spent six weeks at Province House.

The Progressive-Conservative government passed several pieces of legislation during the sitting, including Bill 1 that ends fixed election dates, provides pay and expense increases for MLAs, and gives the government the ability to fire non-unionized civil servants without cause.
