Faculty Association Meets With CBU Administration, Today

The union representing faculty at Cape Breton University will meet with the university’s administration, today.

The meeting comes as the Faculty Association is in a two week countdown to a legal strike position.

Last week, CBU’s Board of Governors voted to reject a tentative agreement reached with the Faculty Association in November.

It also fired President David Wheeler over what it described as procedural problems in his handling of contract negotiations.

The Board didn’t say much more about the tentative deal or its rejection of it.
