Regional Police say they laid eight charges and recovered about $2,000 in stolen goods during a December blitz focused on shoplifting in the CBRM.
It was the fifth operation the force took part in with the Retail Council of Canada Taskforce on Loss Prevention that works with retail organizations and police agencies to address concerns about shoplifting.
Police say people caught during the blitz face charges of Theft, Possession of Stolen Goods, and Breaches of previous Court-ordered conditions.
They say stores also issued Protection of Property Act notices to prevent people from returning to stores where they were caught.
