Eastern Zone Outnumbers Central In New COVID Cases

The Health Authority’s Eastern Zone has more new COVID-19 cases than the Central Zone today.

The province is reporting 33 new cases overall but 18 of those cases are in the Eastern Zone that includes Cape Breton.

14 are in the Central Zone and one is in the Northern Zone.

One of the new Eastern Zone cases is a staff member at Harbourstone Enhanced Care in Sydney.

The province is reporting 182 recoveries today and the total number of confirmed active cases is now 638.

Those cases include 119 in the Cape Breton County Community Health Network and one in the Inverness, Victoria and Richmond Community Health Network.

63 people in the province are in hospital with the virus, including 21 in intensive care.
